The history of Sweden 

Sweden is a country located in northern Europe that has been around for many centuries. The earliest known inhabitants of the area date back to around 7000 BC. During the Viking Age, which began around 800 AD, the Swedes became a powerful force in northern Europe. They were known for their raids, trading networks, and political influence.

In the late 12th century, Sweden was united under one kingdom and grew in power and influence. During the course of the 16th and 17th centuries, Sweden was a great power in northern Europe. In the 18th century, Sweden industrialized and became a major European trading power.

Sweden remained neutral in both World War I and World War II. After the war, Sweden joined the European Union in 1995 and the Eurozone in 2009. Today, Sweden is a prosperous nation with a modern economy and a high standard of living.
